How to Rent from the Media Center

All rentals from the Media Center are done through WebCheckout’s “Patron Portal.” In Patron Portal, you can create your own equipment reservations by selecting the date and time for pickup and return of your equipment, adding equipment to your reservation using the “Catalogue”, and saving the reservation. Having trouble submitting?

Follow these step by step instructions:

Sign into Patron Portal using your NUID credentials.

Sign in using your Northeastern email and password.

Click 'New Reservation'.

Select 'Media Center' when choosing checkout centers.

Choose the pick-up time.

Monday through Thursday, the earliest pickup time is 9:30 AM and the latest time is 5 PM. On Fridays, the latest pickup time is 4 PM.

 

If you're creating a reservation to be picked up ASAP, set the pick-up time for at least 1 hour after your current time. (Ex: If it's 10 AM, set the pick-up time for 11 AM). Please expect to wait 5-30 minutes after creating a day-of reservation, as our staff needs time to prepare your order.

 

WebCheckout stops accepting reservations at 4 PM. Please ask a Media Center employee for assistance if you want to reserve day-of past 4 PM.

Choose the return time.

Browse catalog and select desired equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have access to the Patron Portal?

If you are currently taking a CAMD class, you should be able to log into the Patron Portal using your NUID credentials and create a reservation. If you are taking a CAMD class and you are not able to log in, email the Media Center by clicking here. (link to email)

 

If you are not taking a CAMD class, but you are a CAMD student, faculty, or staff member, and you are unable to sign in to the Patron Portal, you can request access to use the Patron Portal for the current semester by clicking here. (link to link 4)

 

If you are not taking a CAMD class in the current semester and you are not a CAMD student, faculty, or staff member, you will NOT be able to rent equipment from the Media Center. For alternate equipment rental options, we recommend checking with the library and the EXP building.

Where do I pick up the equipment?

All equipment pickups are done at the Media Center, Room 236B on the 2nd floor of Ryder Hall. You will need to bring your Husky ID to pick up the equipment.

 

Expect that your equipment will not be ready for pickup until the pickup time that you’ve selected. Reservations are subject to cancellation after 30 minutes of your pickup time if the equipment is not picked up before then.

Where do I return the equipment?

Bring your equipment to the Media Center where it was picked up from, Room 236B on the 2nd floor of Ryder Hall. Our team members will require you to stay while we inspect the equipment before accepting the return.
